Aftercare & FAQ
Everything you need to know to help a new tattoo heal well, plus answers to the questions I get asked most.
Aftercare
First 24 hours
Keep the bandage on for a few hours, then gently wash the area with unscented soap and lukewarm water, pat it dry, and apply a thin layer of the healing balm I recommend.
First two weeks
Keep the area clean and moisturised, avoid direct sun, and skip swimming, soaking or saunas until it's fully healed. Don't pick at any scabs — let them fall off on their own.
Clothing & activity
Wear loose clothing over the tattoo and avoid heavy sweating, friction or contact sports until the skin has settled.
Signs to watch for
Some redness and light swelling is normal at first. Excessive redness, swelling, pus or fever can mean infection — see a doctor if that happens.
This is general guidance — always follow the specific instructions given after your session.
